Freshman Chris Farrow, 14, has only been at South River High
School for a few weeks, but he already has a resume a senior could
envy. The Mayo resident has been an activist for various causes
since fourth grade and isn't slowing down.
A resident of Saunders Point in Edgewater, Chris grew up outside,
swimming in the community pond a few steps from his backyard, rock
climbing and exploring the area on his kayak.
In his fourth-grade history class at Mayo Elementary School,
Chris learned the United States has a National Child's Day, similar
to Mother's and Father's days. Since 2001, the first Sunday in June
