Catherine O'Connor, assistant city manager for the city of
Oklahoma City, knew she wanted a career in the public because of her
strong desire to make a difference in people's lives.
"I believe local government is where that most effectively can
happen," O'Connor said. "At work I try to find ways to accomplish a
task or goal more efficiently, to acknowledge others' concerns or
needs and to try to make local government more open and accessible.
At times that means finding creative solutions to problems or
situations."
A University of Oklahoma graduate, O'Connor has a master's degree
in public administration. She began her career with the city of
