A YOUNG people's centre has submitted a bid for almost [pounds]5m
in funds to revamp its ageing facilities.
Vo lunteers and youngsters who use the West Durham Youth and
Community Resource Centre, in New Road, Crook, worked together to
compile the [pounds]4.9m bid to the National Lottery's Myplace fund.
It was was submitted this week.
An initial bid for funding was rejected last December, after the
fund was inundated with requests.
The Lottery sent a letter to the youth centre in June, inviting
representatives to submit a revised bid during the second round of
funding.
Ian Lyle, chairman of the resource's management committee, said:
