Article: A law? Gun store needs to see duty

No law, says West Milwaukee gun shop owner Adam Allan, demands he check for felons among the men sharpening their aim in his basement shooting range. His staffers check identification, but "unless they put an F on someone's driver license, I don't know they have a felony,"Allan told a reporter.

Here's an idea: As long as you've got the guy's ID, how about you log it and later run a check the way you already do for gun buyers? Or just look on the state's courts Web site, called CCAP, the way landlords do. Takes all of one minute.
