So last Sunday I stopped by the Metropolitan Horsemen's Association and Area VII Shetland pony & Miniature Horse Association's inaugural Mini & Small Horse Show in the Oakland hills, a very big name for a show about something so small.

Not being much of a horse person myself -- my entire childhood horse experience consisted of a two-minute pony ride in the parking lot of the Town & Country Shopping Center in Palo Alto -- I didn't quite know what to expect at a horse show, much less one for such diminutive creatures.
