Helen Carpenter Andrews
1916 ~ 2009
Helen Carpenter Andrews, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and
great grandmother passed away quietly, September 30, 2009 with her
family by her side.
Helen was born April 11, 1916, in Payson, UT, the only child of
Charles and Emma Merritt Carpenter. She graduated from Springville
High School in 1934 where she participated in opera. She then came
to Salt Lake City, attended LDS Business College and worked at Dick
Gunn's Cafe. It was there she met her future husband, Edward H.
Andrews. After graduation they married on October 9, 1937. She then
worked for the Federal Government at Fort Douglas until 1939 when
she started her family.
