Article: FDK Unveils 8A High Density, Low Profile Mini POL Converters

FDK Corp. a global electronic component and battery manufacturer, has expanded its DK Series with two new non-isolated, point-of-load (POL), dc-dc converters.

The company said the very small, low profile surface mount devices (SMD) deliver up to 8 Amperes (A) of output current at power densities up to 1150 watts/cubic inch, with efficiencies up to 93 percent. They operate from a 5.6Vdc to 14.0Vdc input bus with a tightly regulated, programmable output voltage of 0.8Vdc to 6.6Vdc. They fit a wide range of telecommunications, data communications, computing, industrial, and consumer applications where board space, cost, profile, efficiency, and operation in elevated temperature environments ...
