Article: Town Hall work kicks off today?

HAMDEN -- Ground will be broken today on the Memorial Town Hall renovation project, now estimated at $26.4 million. There will be additional costs for contingency and furnishings.

The project includes a police station addition to the 1924 Town Hall, as well as a renovation of the worn-out adjacent firehouse known as Station 4.

U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-3, and Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz are expected to attend the 1:30 p.m. ceremony in the Town Hall rotunda, officiated by Mayor Craig B. Henrici. The public is invited.
