HAMDEN -- Ground will be broken today on the Memorial Town Hall
renovation project, now estimated at $26.4 million. There will be
additional costs for contingency and furnishings.
The project includes a police station addition to the 1924 Town
Hall, as well as a renovation of the worn-out adjacent firehouse
known as Station 4.
U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-3, and Secretary of the State Susan
Bysiewicz are expected to attend the 1:30 p.m. ceremony in the Town
Hall rotunda, officiated by Mayor Craig B. Henrici. The public is
invited.
Bids were opened for the project in August. Bid packets were
taken out by 115 vendors and 91 companies returned bids for ...
