ALEX RAY of Holderness, owner of the Common Man Family of
Restaurants based in Ashland, was named this year's Cornerstone
Humanitarian as part of the National Restaurant Association's
Restaurant Neighbor Awards. The award, along with a $5,000 to his
designated cause, Webster Place Recovery Center in Franklin, was
presented to Ray at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The award
celebrates the philanthropic spirit of the restaurant industry and
serves to inspire others to get involved in their communities.
EUGENE and ANNE SLUSSER of Hopkinton donated $1 million to the
New Hampshire Aviation Historical Society. The gift will go toward
