Fiona Spence (36) lives in Dundonald with her fiance Mark. She
says:
I had been working as an office administrator for Wakeman
Boreham, a transport company, for three years at their only office
in Northern Ireland.
There had been redundancies in April, but they hadn't affected
the Belfast office. On August 24, however, we were given notice of
redundancy for 28 days. At that point we were able to offer to do
what we could to save our job, but I knew that there wasn't much I
could do. It's not a very nice position to be in -- I had just got
engaged and I couldn't begin to plan my wedding. I was due to go on
holiday at the beginning of September, and I didn't know what I
would come back to.
