EVANS - Single mother Amber White and her children, Alexis and
Addison, will soon be the owners of the 600th house built by Habitat
for Humanity in West Virginia.
The home, which will be located in Evans, near Ripley, will be
built in Evans Dale Farms subdivision.
It is the fifth Habitat home built in Jackson County and the
600th in the state. Habitat for Humanity has provided more than
300,000 homes all over the world.
A groundbreaking ceremony was Monday in Evans to celebrate World
Habitat Day and the Whites' future home.
Donna DeHart, executive director of the Jackson County Habitat
for Humanity, said the decision of who would receive the home was a
difficult one to make.
