"Movers and Shakers" is an overused bromide for activists, but I
cannot think of a more apt way to characterize the five individuals
who were honored as the 2009 Contemporary History Makers by the
Pasadena Museum of History (PMH). Their personalities, energy, civic
passion and philanthropy have played a significant role in shaping
Pasadena's heritage.
The honorees: Larry Mantle, Denise Nelson Nash, Betsey and Sid
Tyler and the late Richard Nevins were lauded at the annual awards
dinner held in the museum gardens on Saturday night.
