Article: New trucks land in Afghanistan Oshkosh Corp. delivers first all- terrain vehicles under lucrative military contract

The first Oshkosh Corp. all-terrain military trucks have arrived in Afghanistan, three months after the company was awarded a vehicle contract that could be worth billions of dollars.

Seven of the trucks were flown from Charleston, S.C., to an undisclosed location in Afghanistan, where they are being readied for service by U.S. military personnel. So far, Oshkosh has received orders for 4,296 of the off-road trucks designed for use in rugged, mountainous terrain.

The Defense Department has said it could buy 2,800 to 10,000 of the so-called M-ATV trucks for use by the Army and Marine Corps. With spare parts and support services, the orders have so far totaled $2.3 billion.
