Under the shadow of the state budget, area school districts
struggle to provide students the education they need to succeed in
today's technologically advanced markets while remaining financially
viable.
Area school officials met with two state legislators in Hartland
on Sept. 29 to discuss the state budget and its effect on education.
"I think it's extremely important that as educators we make our
voices heard," said Kettle Moraine School District Superintendent
Pat Deklotz.
Deklotz was joined by superintendents from Palmyra-Eagle,
Mukwonago, Waukesha and Oconomowoc in hearing from state Rep. Scott
Newcomer and state Sen. Neal Kedzie and asking what districts can do
