A MERGER between chocolate giant Cadbury and Kraft Foods would
provide "great opportunities", according to the managing director of
the Cheltenham-based food brand giant.
Nick Bunker, the Gloucestershire-based boss of the European
operation of the American-owned Kraft group, was unable to expand on
just how any deal between the two firm's might be progressing. The
tale has been one of 'will they or won't they' since the deal was
first mooted last month, and despite Cadbury rejecting the initial
Pounds 10.2 billion bid the story appears to have some way to go
yet. A City Takeover Panel has ruled Kraft has until October 9 to
make a firm offer, or not to bid for Cadbury.
