First lady Gayle Manchin appreciates Weight Watchers for "what
it's not."
"It is not a fad, a quick fix or an overnight wonder diet," she
said.
Instead, the Weight Watchers program is a blueprint to better
health, she said. Members learn about food groups, portion control,
recipes, smart choices, and the pluses of exercise, she said.
Manchin was keynote speaker for the 40th anniversary celebration
of Weight Watchers of West Virginia on Tuesday morning at Patrick
Street Plaza. She was introduced by Millie Snyder, who now heads the
organization that covers 51 counties in West Virginia, 10 in
Tennessee, five in Ohio and two in Kentucky.
