ORRVILLE -- A Fire Apparatus Committee of the Orrville Fire
Department began evaluating fire apparatus manufacturers in spring
2008.
Fire Chief Bob Ballentine said the OFD considered American
LaFrance, E-One, Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Pierce Manufacturing,
Seagrave Fire Apparatus, Smeal Fire Apparatus, Sutphen Corp., Toyne
and Rosenbauer America.
Units from E-One, Smeal, Toyne and Rosenbauer have been brought
to Orrville for review.
Firefighters have made visits to local fire departments that
operate Seagrave and Sutphen units to obtain input from personnel
who drive and operate them.
