A 22-year-old man was fatally shot outside a north side gas station early Wednesday, the second talented basketball player gunned down outside the station in the last two months.

Querronaceosam "Querrero" Z. Evans was shot about 1:35 a.m. outside the Marathon station at N. 35th St. and W. Garfield Ave., police said.

Evans, who lived about a block from the gas station, had gone to the store to buy a fuse for his car, his cousin said in an interview.

Police officials did not provide information about a motive or the circumstances of the homicide, saying the killing was still under investigation.
