Article: Humane Society's `Free Shot' day is a big success

THE HUMANE SOCIETY of Alameda's Ruth Brown has announced a successful animal event, held Sept. 26. The "Free Shot" day was organized by the Humane Society and sponsored by Pet Food Express of Blanding Avenue and the VIP Pet Vaccinations for the benefit of dogs and cats. More than 210 felines and canines were brought to the event.

The Humane Society has held the clinic for six years in September at Littlejohn Park, but the Blanding Avenue event was the largest turnout ever. A KPIX-Channel 5 camera crew was on hand to televise the event and interviewed Carmen Lasar, Humane Society president. Look for the telecast on "Pets Around the Bay" on Channel 5, in the future.
