THE HUMANE SOCIETY of Alameda's Ruth Brown has announced a
successful animal event, held Sept. 26. The "Free Shot" day was
organized by the Humane Society and sponsored by Pet Food Express of
Blanding Avenue and the VIP Pet Vaccinations for the benefit of dogs
and cats. More than 210 felines and canines were brought to the
event.
The Humane Society has held the clinic for six years in September
at Littlejohn Park, but the Blanding Avenue event was the largest
turnout ever. A KPIX-Channel 5 camera crew was on hand to televise
the event and interviewed Carmen Lasar, Humane Society president.
Look for the telecast on "Pets Around the Bay" on Channel 5, in the
future.
