IT was the beginning of a love affair that shows no signs of fading. When the Cameron Toll Shopping Centre opened in October, 1984, Edinburgh shoppers got their first taste of an out-of-town shopping mall.

The Savacentre hypermarket - a joint venture between BHS and Sainsbury, which boasted of being Scotland's largest single level store - was the main draw.

While some may have been smitten at first sight, millions of us since have been bitten by the bug.
