Awards
At its Honor Convocation in Baltimore, the College of Notre Dame
of Maryland presented its annual Service to Society Award to a Class
of 1959 alumna, Sister Mary Gabriel Roeder, for her leadership in
establishing schools and communities in the United States and Africa
to create opportunities for women and girls. Julie Kline Rybczynski,
an alumna from the Class of 1999, received the Regina Russo Hammel
'41 Outstanding Recent Graduate Award for her work in building
communities in the Archdiocese of Baltimore and for Notre Dame.
Brian D. Berry, chair and professor of religious studies, received
the Mullan Distinguished Teacher Award. Berry has developed the
