CRANSWICK Plc boss Martin Davey described the company's
performance as "tremendously encouraging" after it announced
doubledigit sales growth for the first half of the year.
The east Hull sausage-maker reported a hike in revenue of 19 per
cent for the six months to the end of September, compared with the
same period last year.
In a trading update release yesterday, Cranswick said it achieved
an operating margin in line with the previous financial year,
despite record rises in pig prices.
Prices peaked at 156p/kg earlier this year, but has since
softened to about 150p/kg.
The company also reported a reduction in net debt due to cash
generated from operations and corporate activity.
