Article: Festival trustees after donations; FINANCIAL CRISIS

The Christchurch Arts Festival still owes money for venue hire and is approaching long-time supporters for donations.

Festival organisers asked the Christchurch City Council for financial aid this week after significant losses at the festival in July and August.

Barry Gadsby, who is a life member of the festival's Premiere Club of patrons, said he had been asked for a donation by a festival trustee about two weeks ago.

The Centre of Contemporary Art (Coca), which was used for two exhibitions and three performance pieces as part of the festival, is still owed $4316.
