LAKE ARROWHEAD
Two-story cabin burns at Deer Lodge Park
A two-story cabin was destroyed and surrounding trees, brush and
chaparral burned in the fire in Deer Lodge Park early Saturday
morning.
The fire was reported at 8:27 a.m. in a remote canyon west of the
community.
Forty firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, San Bernardino
County Fire Department and Crest Forest Fire Protection District
were able to keep the fire from spreading into adjacent homes and
the narrow canyon below.
The exact cause of the blaze is unknown.
Investigators were able to determine the fire originated in the
home and the investigation is ongoing.
