Milwaukee and Greenfield are working on plans to drag a long- neglected stretch of S. 27th St. into the 21st century.

The question: What do you do with the old hotel, a building with its roots in the 19th, that's in the middle of that stretch?

Wildenberg's Evergreen Hotel, Bar and Mobile Home Park, at 3774 S. 27th St. sits between two proposed developments in a city tax district created to encourage the upgrading of the area. And the hotel's owners are feeling a little squeezed these days.
