West Virginia plays for the 15th time in the Carrier Dome today.
It can be a really different experience, and when Syracuse had a
really good program, it provided one of the countrys best home-
field advantages. Although the dome can be a house of horrors
because of a tight, narrow sideline space with a looming and loud
crowd, the potential for heat, and the flat playing surface (when
throwing quarterbacks are accustomed to a crowned field), the
Mountaineers havent been bad in the Boeheim Bubble. OK, WVU is only
6-8 all-time at Carrier, but it also has two of the best road
performances in the buildings 30-season history (it opened in 1980).
