QUARTERBACKS Syracuse quarterback Greg Paulus is a neat story. A
graduate student at SU, Paulus was a four-year letter winner as a
guard at basketball powerhouse Duke. Comparatively, though, he
doesnt stack up with West Virginias Jarrett Brown, even considering
Browns latest troubles. While Brown is 20th nationally in pass
efficiency, Paulus is 62nd. While Brown is 14th in total offense,
Paulus is 52nd. They are close in passing yards a game, but Paulus
has nine interceptions to Browns five. EDGE: Mountaineers
RUNNING BACKS Again, West Virginias running back corps is pretty
much a one-man band ... but that one man, tailback Noel Devine, has
been playing some very sweet music of late. ...
