A controversial road taken over by the city this year is undergoing an extensive face-lift, with a $200,000 paving project completed last month and renovations on existing buildings underway.

Moreland Parkway is located one block from West Street off Admiral Drive.

The city last month completed a repaving project that included road repairs and resurfacing. Workers are wrapping up work on new sidewalks and plan to add a bike lane.

Meanwhile, two new building projects are breathing new life into the corridor that had fallen into disrepair.

The owner of the building formerly home to the Merritt Athletic Club that closed last year has renovated the old gym into a flex/ office building.
