Czech president to sign Lisbon Treaty only with guaranteed
exemption: secretary
PRAGUE, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Czech President Vaclav Klaus is
willing to sign the European Union's Lisbon Treaty only if the EU
guarantees Czech citizens inviolability of their property rights,
his secretary said during a TV interview on Sunday.
Secretary Ladislav Jakl said the president, a vehement
eurosceptic, demanded that no court within the EU be empowered to
dismiss the Benes decrees via reassessment.
Officially called the Decrees of the President of the Republic,
the series of law, enacted by the Czechoslovak government-in-exile
during World War II, was invoked after the war to confiscate
