It'll be the dead King of Pop vs. the teen queen of country for
American Music Awards artist of the year.
Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift were among the nominees
announced Tuesday in Beverly Hills. Also contending for artist of
the year: Eminem, Kings of Leon and Lady Gaga.
Swift topped all artists with six nominations and Jackson, who
died June 25, has five. Eminem received four.
Winners are determined by an online vote of fans and will be
announced at a Los Angeles ceremony televised by ABC on Nov. 22.
Nominees were selected through a measurement combining sales and
radio airplay.
