Ronald Calvin Poff, 58, of Salem, Va., passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray C. Poff. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl Poff; son, Ryan Poff; mother, Doris Poff; sisters, Linda Wintermeyer and husband, Butch, and Lisa Bain and husband, Mark; niece, Kerri Bain; and nephew, Stephen Bain. Known by many nicknames including "Ronnie," "Woody," "Bubs," and "Red," he was a lifelong resident of Salem and was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and Virginia Tech.
