Article: More Crafar stock put down

Further cases of animal neglect - including underweight animals, inadequate feed, overstocking and lack of shelter for calves - have been found on farms belonging to the Crafar family.

The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry is now deciding whether the farms' managers and owners will be prosecuted.

During an investigation, it was decided to put down about 50 dairy cows from at least five of the Crafars' properties.

The Crafars' 22 North Island farms were placed into receivership on Monday after the family defaulted on debt payments.
