PICO RIVERA - There are seven candidates vying for two seats on
the City Council in the Nov. 3 municipal election, and four
challengers said they are running because of what they view as
corruption and a lack of transparency in City Hall.
Incumbent candidate Ron Beilke did not return calls seeking
comment.
Marty Morones, Luis Alvarado, Raul Riesgo and Pete Ramirez said
they are unhappy with the way the city is being run and said they
wanted to change it.
"My experience as a member of the community tells me there has
been too much bickering in the City Council and too much influence
