LONG BEACH - A series of on-and-off rain spurts should linger for another round today, before the sun breaks through the cloud cover to usher back some warm weather.

Tuesday's first touch of moisture in the rainy season had some shelters dusting off plans to help the homeless. And the city issued a string of tips to handle any weather-related emergencies.

Today's occasional rain episodes are an extension of Tuesday's drizzles, which delivered 0.12 of an inch of precipitation at the Long Beach Airport, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Andy Mussoline.
