Article: Visit to Haiti spurs humanitarian mission Kettle Moraine grad turns to alma mater for help

Less than a year after Haiti was peppered by four strong hurricanes, destroying what little the island had, 2007 Waukesha West High School graduate Nick Hendren visited the impoverished area with a group of Milwaukee surgeons who volunteered their time to perform medical operations free of charge.

"We spent one fantastic week in Haiti and were able to help scores of people to improve their quality of life," said Hendren who is now a junior at University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in zoology.
