On this date in 1986 ...

The Angels are one strike away from advancing to the the World Series when the Red Sox' Dave Henderson hits a two-run home run off Donnie Moore to put the Sox ahead, 6-5, in the ninth inning of Game 5 of the ALCS. The Angels tie the game in the bottom of the inning, but the Sox eventually win on a Henderson sacrifice fly in the 11th. The Sox go on to win Games 6 and 7 in Boston.
