Walter P. Lukens, 85, who retired in 1967 from the Army Judge
Advocate General's Corps at the rank of lieutenant colonel and
became an executive with the military contractor Litton Industries,
died Oct. 9 at Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in
Alexandria. He had Alzheimer's disease.
Col. Lukens served 20 years in the Army and was a decorated
combat veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Stanford
University law school in 1955 and subsequently served in the Judge
Advocate General's Corps.
He joined Litton after his military retirement and became
director of the Washington office and a corporate vice president. He
retired in 1991.
