Sherri Ann Sorofman was always proud to be the only girl on Ware
Pond in Marblehead wearing hockey skates.
Standing at just over 5 feet tall (plus a few inches with her
black CCM Super Tacks), she was a gifted athlete, whether she was
playing hockey with her two sons, tossing a football with a perfect
spiral, or biking 40 miles.
Ms. Sorofman, who was known for her athletic skills as much as
her personality and poetic soul, died Oct. 8 of lung cancer at
Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 62.
Ms. Sorofman grew up and lived in Marblehead, relishing everyday
conversations and delighting in running errands in her later years.
