MARBLEHEAD -- Emerson A. "Bud" Shanklin, 82, 6271 East Harbor
Road, Marblehead, formerly of Dalton, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at
Shady Lawn Health Care Community following three months of declining
health.
He was born on April 27, 1927, near Dalton, the son of Lewis and
Verna (Bickel) Shanklin. He was united in marriage to Eva Lintern on
June 21, 1950, in Dalton. She survives.
Bud served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman first
class. He had been employed at the former Tyson Roller Bearing Co.
in Massillon for 35 years as a roll grinder. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of Dalton United Methodist Church and a life
member and former commander of Dalton VFW. He enjoyed ...
