MARSHALLVILLE -- With the costs of farming operations increasing
each year, Elmer Baer said he hopes he and his wife can pass on a
viable business to their children.
The farm at 6669 Coalbank Road has been in the Baer family since
1818, and Elmer and Carolyn Baer are the seventh generation to work
the farm. Their son, Jeff, and his family, wife Angie and children,
are the eighth and ninth generations to live on the farm.
The Baer farm was one of eight stops on the 2009 Wayne County
Farm Tour, which continues today from 1 p.m.-6 p.m.
