Article: Personnel, service cuts on table for 2010 Cutting jobs, hours, weed harvesting are options in budget

Village of Pewaukee - Furloughs, cutting back on hours, eliminating lake weed harvesting and cutting personnel are some of the options on the table as the Village Board tackles a 2010 budget that currently has a $346,000 shortfall.

Village staff was directed by the board Sept. 28 to come up with 5 percent in reductions. However, those numbers came up short since a large portion of the village's budget is not under the control of the board.

Staff came up with $269,146 or 4.3 percent worth of cuts from the 2009 general fund budget of $6,232,720. The 5-percent mark was $311,636. The 2010 draft budget comes in at $148,753 more than the 2009 budget, or an increase of 2.4 percent.
