PLYMOUTH Albion girls had a day of mixed fortunes against Bournemouth outfit Oakmedians at Brickfields.

The club's under-18s went down 17-0 despite putting in a gritty display against the visitors.

Albion, despite injuries, were able to field a full under-18s side plus substitutes for the first time in a while, and had the advantage over the visitors in the opening exchanges.

But Oaks responded and only some sure tackles from the back row of Tandie Wallace Sims, Harriet Inglis and captain Kim Barber stopped the opposing forwards from bursting through.

Albion wingers Lucy Beighton and Holly Molesworth were more than a match for their opposite numbers.
