Roundup: Philippine stocks close flat as investors stay at sidelines

MANILA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine market remains lackluster as investors choose to stay at the sidelines in the absence of market moving news.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index ended its three- day decline on Wednesday by closing 0.02 percent or 0.61 point higher to settle at 2,930.70. The all share index was also up by only 0.11 percent or 2.18 points to 1,849.33.

Trading volume was a bit higher where a total of 1.17 billion shares valued at 3.58 billion pesos (77.74 million U.S. dollars) were exchanged. Investors continue to be net sellers at 99 million pesos (2.14 million U.S. dollars).
