Greg L. Hoover, who had been president and chief operating
officer of Evansville-based Atlas World Group since September 2008,
has taken the helm of competitor
Bekins Van Lines.
Bekins, headquartered in Hillside, Ill., outside Chicago,
announced Hoover as its chief executive officer Tuesday.
"Greg is not a status quo manager, and we needed someone to help
Bekins find new solutions," said Doug McGrath, a Bekins board member
who served on the CEO search team.
"Greg is one of the highest-quality leaders in our industry, and
we know he will make smart choices where Bekins and our changing
industry are going," said McGrath, president of Worldwide Relocation
