What's the biggest construction project on Long Island? It's a
billion-dollar scientific tool being built at Brookhaven National
Laboratory in Upton. As director of BNL, Samuel Aronson is in charge
of a facility that employs about 2,800 and welcomes another 4,000
visiting scientists - as well as this massive construction project.
BNL is expanding at an unprecedented pace, doing research into
nanotechnology and the properties of materials at the microscopic
level. We talked with the leader of the lab about science, business
and fuel.
