3D technology licensed
A technology developed by the Johns Hopkins University Applied
Physics Laboratory as part of the Digital Hammurabi Project has been
licensed to Trilumen LLC, a Maryland company. The technology permits
three-dimensional scanning of small objects and was initially used
to scan ancient clay tablets bearing cuneiform text, the earliest
written language. Trilumen plans to commercialize and market the 3D
scanning technology initially to the forensics and historic
preservation markets. Future opportunities include medical, quality
control and prototyping. The company said it is establishing a
