Article: University of Tulsa's Gilcrease Museum adds extensive collection

An acquisition by the University of Tulsa will make the Gilcrease Museum the leading center for research of renowned Western artist Charles M. Russell.

The university, which manages the Gilcrease, has bought the 13,000-item C.M. Russell Research Collection from the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center for an undisclosed price.

That collection of works and artifacts from across Russell's life was compiled by biographer Homer Britzman and the artist's widow, Nancy Russell.
