UPLAND
Police nab copper theft suspect
Upland police arrested a Corona man Thursday morning after they
caught him with about 100 pounds of stolen copper tubing on the roof
of a Target store.
Oscar Clark, 23, was booked into West Valley Detention Center in
Rancho Cucamonga on suspicion of grand theft. Police also plan to
recommend prosecutors file felony vandalism charges against him,
because he caused an estimated $10,000 damage to air conditioning
units at the store, said Upland police Sgt. Greg Doyle.
Police received a report at 12:31 a.m. that people were on the
roof of the store at 1931 N. Campus Ave. An employee told officers
