Article: City of Pico Rivera proposes using Sports Arena for city events

PICO RIVERA - The city is considering extending its lease with an entertainment vendor at the Sports Arena complex with the caveat of using the facility for its own purposes up to four times a year.

Los Angeles-based LEBA Inc. sublets the facility located at 11003 Rooks Road from the city for events like concerts and charreadas, officials said. Their contract is up next year and the company wants to extend it another five years.

City officials have proposed using the facility in exchange for dropping the yearly fee from $300,000 to $250,000. But some call the arrangement questionable.
