SCOTLAND'S year of homecoming may be drawing to a close but there
is still no escaping Rabbie Burns.
The latest addition to the volumes of biographies and theatrical
celebrations of the Ayrshire Bard produced to mark the 250th
anniversary of his birth is a 'brand new, original Scottish musical'
called MacPhersons [sic] Rant.
Inspired by the Burns' song also known as Macpherson's Lament,
the musical, which is set in Banff, against the backdrop of the
Jacobite Rebellion, receives its world premiere at the Church Hill
Theatre, next Tuesday.
